Rachel and Tyler | Charlotte Wedding Photographer | Highlands, NC
We don’t get many calls like Rachel’s, which went something like this: “Hi, Love Shutter, I have a wedding coming up and we would love it if you could be our photographers. Did I happen to mention the wedding is six weeks away?!” I truly almost dropped the phone and was dead certain we wouldn’t be available. But you know, God has a way of bringing people together and when I checked our calendar, her wedding date was the only day we had available between June and October. The. Only. One. A little back story is probably in order. Rachel and Tyler were just recently engaged when Tyler received a job offer that would require him to relocate for nine months. Rather than continue their relationship, and wedding planning long distance, they decided to accelerate the wedding and thought the perfect place would be the Little Church in the Wildwood in Highlands, NC which happened to be directly across the road from the vacation cabin that Rachel’s family visited for over 35 years. The church was something out of a storybook and was a single room wooden church completely surrounded by rhododendrons and cedars that still hosted sing-a-longs every Sunday evening during the summer. Yes, this was the perfect location for Rachel and Tyler. There are two shots that we’ll never forget. The first is the look on Tyler’s face when he saw his gorgeous bride approaching the screen door. The second is Rachel and her father Steve walking into the church. He is so proud and it’s clear that this is a particularly special moment. Mountainside Bride thought so as well and featured Rachel and Tyler on the internets preeminent mountain wedding blog. Our very best wishes to Rachel and Tyler for a lifetime of happiness.
